Happy Bday Flashback

I havent participated in Friday Photo Flashback in quite some time, but I got this picture from my friend and I just had to share it.

In honor of my friend Pua's bday which was yesterday, I share this photo which was taken at her birthday party 20 years ago.

Did you hear me say that?

This was taken 20 years ago!

Never have I ever imagined that I would say that!

How did I get old enough to say this pix was taken 20 years ago? I swear that pix was JUST taken of us!

We often talk about having a weekend do over in this exact spot, except this time we'd have our kids with us. How fun would that be?

I promise after sharing this photo if we do this again, I'll have another one to share.

My little fisherman...

My lil boy loves anything fishing.

Look at how proud he is holding just that fish tail! LOL

It's Labor Day weekend and we have no plans... again.

I would like to go down to the beach and take my lil man fishing.

I would also like to finish up some of my projects that are still at about 80% done.

I have one thats just about 95% and I am determined to have it done this weekend.

Things are simmering down in the house, hopefully it stays that way.

I think were all just tired and in dire need of this long weekend!

As seen by a 2 yr old...

We had our company's 10 year anniversary party last night.

Of course its hard for a 2 yr old to sit still during a dinner so I let my son go around the room with my small camera and take pix to entertain himself.

It was interesting to see what he took pix of.

Here are just some of the highlights minus about a hundred shots of the floor or just a white flash of I have no idea what it was.

~ Kipu Kai ~

Kipu Kai is located between Maha'ulepu (South Shore) and Nawiliwili (Central Lihue).

It is privately owned and the land is held in a trust of the late John T. Waterhouse.

When the last of his family (Trustees) pass, the land will be gifted to the State.

Kipu Kai is not accessable to the public. There is a single lane road that leads over the Ha'upu Range and down into Kipu Kai.

(this isnt a great picture taken through the hubs dirty windshield but check out that road! YIKES! you should have seen coming down!)

The beach is like a protective cove between the mountains and is absolutely beautiful. Pictures just do not do it justice!

 

It's a great fishing spot and the hubs was in heaven.

The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and to have the beach to ourselves amazing!

We are truly so greatful to have had the chance to see this amazing place.

And back to reality coming back over the mountain and seeing civilization.

I have been very MIA recently getting ready for my son's birthdaty party this weekend.

I can't belive he's two, time sure does fly by.

I was really excited for the theme of this party but the timing just wasnt right to play with my camera and get some good shots.

This photo happened totally by mistake.

It was our friend's bachelor bbq and I went down to their house to pick up my party boy (the hubs) and bring the bride back home.

I brought my camera cause the bride knew the boys wouldnt have a pix that she could put in her wedding album.

I saw these clothes pins on the line and thought it was pretty cool and I just snapped the shot, unknowing how totally awsome it would come out.

This one I posted before but I just really like how it looks.

And thats all she wrote for today.

Once I wipe up the tears and gather my feelings I'll share with you the precious gift that we received from God 2 years ago today.

Friday Photo Flashback

It's Aloha Friday... no work till Monday...

Well actually TONS of work at home.

As much as I want to crawl into my bed and beg my husband to let me sleep in tomorrow I cant. We have our community garage sale and I'm looking forward to clearing out some clutter.

Next week is also my son's birthday so we've got a little bit of prepping to do for our cookout next Saturday. I cant belive my baby is gonna be two!

My friend sent this pix to me she was just learning her new scanner so you can see the photo sitting on the scanner. This was our friend's birthday party in the 7th grade! Probably about 1991.

I'm the bottom row middle.

I kinda giggle when I see this picture. Lots of memories and some stories I dont need to bring up. LOL

Friday Photo Flashback at More Than Words

It's time again for Friday Photo Flashback over at More Than Words

I'm really getting into this, its sooo much fun strolling down memory lane!

I actually got this photo from my friend. It brings back sooo many memories.

I can honestly say that I either keep in touch with or have been in contact with the families of about 85% of my classmates pictured here.

Infact the girl on the bottom row second one in, she was in my wedding!

I am actually the last girl on the top row with and eye patch on. Yup thats me!

Macro Linky Party

I love photography.

I wish I had an absurd amount of money to buy the camera that I REALLY want and I wish I had the time to go around and take all kinds of pictures. I also wish I had someone to teach me how to use my photoshop elements.

I have been taking a lot of indoor pictures recently with projects or recepies Ive been working on and my indoor shots are just awful. I have bad lighting in my house for one and a not so good camera also.

Tracy over at Tracy's Trinkets & Treasures

has been practicing her photography skills and last week had a great tutorial and linky party for photos with a white background.

This week she played around with the Macro setting. You know that setting with the pix of a flower and you can get all up close and personal with the subject youre shooting.

I love pix like that.

So I'll be linking up and sharing a few of mine.

I took these pictures almost a year ago when I first started blogging.

I took these at my husband's family reunion back in August. I loved the texture of the tree.

I took this one at a friend's house we were grilling in the backyard and the moss caught my eye.

Whew! It's Friday and we survived another week!

You would think Friday is my fav day of the week but it's tomorrow since we get to sleep long enough to get up when its lighted instead of still dark outside AND I get to spend the day with my fav boys :-)

Well.... to celebrate Aloha Friday I'm going to do a few things.

I just love how Marie over at The Things We Find Inside

has a flash back to the 80's Fridays. I just LOOOOVE the 80's. Listening to the music totally brings back memories of watching night tracks! Do any of you remember night tracks?

I used to hold my stereo up against the speaker of the tv and record the music onto cassettes and make mixed tapes! Haha Love it!

Our poor children will never know what thats like, you know I dont even have an Ipod. I refuse, Im stuck in the 80's!

Last night we had a Hoe Down brainstorm meeting and we have been having little ice breakers to start the meeting. If you dont know what Hoe Down for Hope is you can find out a little {here}.Last night's topic was 'what's your fav high ball?'

There was a theme of vodka and martini's going on... lemon drop martini, dirty martini, cosmos, lychee martini.... and one of the women shared a new drink she was introduced to.

It's Coffee Patron. Have you heard of it yet?

 

She suggested serving it chilled in a martini glass.

Sounds yummy and warm and cozy, especially with these chilly nights weve been having.

Personally I try to stay away from Tequila (Tequila makes her clothes fall off - Just Kidding!!!) I do love my Passion Fruit Margaritas.

OLD Sign

I walked up the stairs to my office yesterday morning and didnt even notice this sign hanging on the wall.

It wasnt untill I had to go downstairs a few times did I notice it.

My boss found it at the site they are doing some demolition at.

Look really close and you can see the sign is handpainted!

And that is actual years and years of dirt built up on the sign.

You can see the brush strokes and the little flick of the brush at the end of each letter.

I wonder what kind of stensils they used back when they made this sign, Im pretty sure they didnt have any fancy cricut or sillouette machines back then. LOL

Its either the 21 month old isnt cooperating or the hubby is looking off somewhere else.
