3 years ago one of my dear friends from high school gave us the news that her 23 month old son was diagnosed with cancer. How do you move forward from receiving that kind of news?
And as a friend how do you be there for someone going through something like this?

Its been a long journey for their family.
Here is their daughter Zoe and son Xander.
Alicia has been such a wonderful and dedicated mother through the entire process.
Everytime I saw their updates my heart would go out to them.
Their courage made me feel like anything is possable.
And then three years later a truly amazing thing happened.
Xander got his purple heart.
This purple heart means that he is at the end of his treatments.
What does all of that mean?

I'm so glad he reached the end of his treatments! I assume he's in remission now? My niece was diagnosed with AML at 5 months. She finished her treatments about eight months later and is now in remission. We're so grateful for her every day.
What a heartwarming story!
